I have made a small update to the dock released earlier. As well as a new dock design using white indicators the original dock has been slightly refined.

More trees
More trees is an environmental organization – partly founded by Ryuichi Sakamoto – involved in planting trees as well as forest thinning. You can read more about what they do here. They do good work and I recently started getting involved. This logo is something I made for a photo exhibition at Parco in Shibuya called Touch Wood. It was also recently used for a small collection of mobile phones produced by NTT Docomo.

Redesigning OS X, pt. 1
Apple make beautiful products but parts of the design of OS X seem somewhat lacking. The design of the dock is the most obvious example – being way too shiny for one. Well, I made my own which I have called Kronberg and which I have been using the past couple of months and thought I would share.

Beautiful machines
Fellow Swedes Teenage Engineering are definitely a company to follow. Their newly announced OP-1 synth looks great. Finally a synth design that forgoes retro esthetics.
I also love the sound of FM synthesis so this looks really promising. For great examples of FM synthesis check Brian Eno’s Ambient 4: On Land album or the song Don’t Crash by Front242.
You can sign up to be a beta tester of the OP-1 before it is released sometime next year, but my guess is that most of the slots are taken.
